Oleta 4th Sunday - 2/28/10

We will be hosting the Earth Ethics Institute from Miami Dade College on this Oleta 4th Sunday!

Its been a year since our first MDC Event. The tradition has continued all year long, and its going strong.

Missions:
Jessamine: tear out of the ground or cut down & Solarize
Burma: total eradication from 2 areas on South Point!

SCHEDULE:
8am Team Leader Orientation at the Ranger Station
9am Volunteer Orientation in Parking Lot 9
---> (look for the truck with the kayaks on top)
Noon BBQ at Pelican Pavilion
1pm Kayaking
4pm All done

You MUST be properly equipped for work. Flip-flops won't do it.

Bring:
Water Bottle (you'll carry it for hydration in the bush)
Hat & Sunglasses & sunblock
Shoes or boots
Long-sleeved shirt and pants (we're working in brush, which is often tall and scratchy, sometimes with thorns)
Personal gloves (or use ours)
Food for BBQ (we have charcoal and an iced-down cooler).
Beach-wear & towel for kayaking and swimming later.
