Virginia Key, Arthur J. Lamb Road (Hammock, Jimbo's, Swim-Beach & North Point)

Once you know where it is, it is easy to find.

If you're looking for Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Trust (HVKBPT, the historic Black Beach), Urban Paradise Guild has invested many volunteer hours there. Click http://www.urban-paradise.org/HistoricVaKey .

If you already know how to get to Jimbo's, you know the way. For others:

Take Rickenbacker Causeway from the Mainland. After you cross the High-Span bridge, you will be on Virginia Key. The first stoplight is for MAST Academy.

Take the next left onto Arthur Lamb Jr. Road (sometimes known as Sewer Road). Turn before the next light (which leads to HVKBPT, see above) . After paying the Miami Parks entrance fee ($5, I believe), go down the long straight road.

Hammocks:
After it bends to the left, there are a series of Parking Lots on the right. The Hammocks can be accessed from these Lots. If you have arrived for a tour, look for an open Lot.

Swim Beach:
Continue on Lamb until you reach an intersection, and turn right into a parking lot. You're there.

Jimbo's:
Turn left at the intersection and then right. Look for colorful shacks, and watch out for broken glass when you park. Have a cold one, eat smoked fish, and play some bocci.

Northpoint:
Either park at Jimbos and walk, or continue past Jimbos if there is a city-sanctioned event. There is a beach that faces Fischer Island, across Norris Cut. Sea Turtles are documented as nesting there, and Mantees travel just offshore.
